ONLINE BASIC ELECTRICITY FOR HVAC/R TECHNICIANS
Mon & Thurs, 6:00pm - 9:00 pm, 11/15/21- 1/13/22, (no class on 11/25, 12/27 and 12/30)
45 hours, $605.00
This Online Introductory level course focuses on the principles of electricity as required by HVAC technicians including proper use of test equipment, A/C and D/C circuits, and component theory and operation. Electricity principles provides the foundation to support understanding how to troubleshoot heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
A good quality auto-ranging digital volt-ohm multimeter is required for testing electrical circuits and components.
Electricity Principles is a series of lessons that are on the computer and theory-based learning over Zoom Instruction and Canvas Infrastructure applications; Basic computer and internet skills to log onto the course platform.
The student will exhibit knowledge of basic principles of electricity, electrical current, circuitry, and A/C devices; apply Ohm’s law to electrical calculations;
Perform electrical tests in both series and parallel circuits.
Demonstrate proficiencies in using a digital volt-ohm multi-meter in measuring voltages, amperages and resistances.
