This course provides an intensive evaluation of Sports Marketing tactics and strategy to include an in-depth discussion/understanding of how new technology affects marketing the sports industry. The student will study sports marketing, promotion, media, licensing, advertising, the internet and corporate sponsorship in professional sports and the NCAA. Also, the course will analyze and study sports "sales", audience demographics, and media broadcasting since sports events are used as a vehicle to sell corporate products.

Additionally, this course explores sports management in terms of its scope, principles, issues and future trends as well as job responsibilities and competencies required of managers in a variety of sports or sports-related organizations. Successful completion of this course requires that the student have a basic foundation in the Methodology of business, management, marketing and project management.
