Due to Covid, this class will take place in a zoom classroom. The instructor will install a remote desktop on your computer. Hands-On training will take place on your home computer.

This online course provides an overview of the security field. Lectures and hands-on labs focus on the six (6) domains required by the Security+ Exam, including setting up and securing a client server network, using IPSec, certificates, cryptography, and group policies. Students will gain a strong foundation in core security best practice for network administrators and others who are dedicated to proceed to take the Security+ Exam. It will also serve a good pedagogical foundation for students who aspire to eventually pursue the CEH or CISSP certifications. The Security+ exam will certify that you have the knowledge and skills required to install and configure systems to secure applications, networks, and devices; perform threat analysis and respond with appropriate mitigation techniques; participate in risk mitigation activities; and operate with an awareness of applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
