As a medical records and health information technician, you could be responsible for organizing and maintaining data for clinical databases, reviewing patient records, and recording data electronically. According to the Department of Labor, medical records and health information technicians typically need a post-secondary certificate or an associate's degree in health information technology. In addition, most employers prefer to hire technicians with professional certification, such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS). This Course prepares you for both examinations.

Prerequisite: HS Diploma or GED, plus successful completion of Medical Billing Course (MBC 100) or actual experience as a Medical Biller.

Electronic Health Records in the Hospital: Electronic Health Records in the Physician's Office; Transition to HR,HIPAA,Privacy, Legal Issues, Ethics and Security Quality Assurance: Exchanging and Sharing Health Information
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, experience as a Medical Biller or successful completion of our Medical Billing & Coding program.
