This course will develop an awareness of the various construction management methods and practices used in today’s industry. Through Class discussion and case study examples students will develop a Construction Management Plan and a Safety and Health Plan. This course will cover methods and procedures to manage a construction project. The instructor, Joseph Mucciolo, Architect, RA has more than 3 decades of experience in tri-state area project management.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Able to work in a team environment on a term project
  •  Develop a Scope of Work
  • Develop a Schedule of Values
  • Develop an Organizational Chart
  • Write the responsibilities and duties of all field staff of the CM
  • Develop a project work schedule in both a Bar Chart and CPM formats
  • Develop a project budget
  • Develop a payment schedule
  • Understand the use of the different types of contracts in the construction industry
  • Able to track a project for payments, extra work and change orders
  • Prepare QA/QC inspection and report documents
  • Prepare and Review safety and health plan
  • Understand the difference between a warranty and a guarantee
  • Develop a punch list and project close out deliverables list
